Frequently Asked Questions

When Can I Have Visitors?

There are no restrictions on visiting, but we would ask you to avoid meal times. If you wish to take go out please can you ensure that a member of staff knows you have gone and please sign yourself in and out of the visitors book, this is for fire safety reasons.

Can I Bring In My Own Furniture?

We actively encourage people to bring in personal items to make their surroundings more homely, small items of furniture may be brought into the home however this should be discussed with Bev (family liaison) first. All items must meet the relevant safety standards and will be checked by our maintenance department before use.

Linen And Towels?

All linen and towels are supplied and laundered by the home, sometimes people want to bring in their own pillows or blankets and this is fine as long as they are fire retardant. We would ask that these items are marked so they don’t get mislaid.

Any Advice About Clothing?

If possible we prefer clothes to be made from easy care fabrics, due to the amount of laundry generated in the home it may not always be possible to guarantee the safety of delicate fabrics .

Clothes should be loose with easy to use fastenings – please avoid fiddly small buttons and hook and eyes, clothes should be loose to make it easier to move freely. If possible we prefer residents to have a pair of slippers and a dressing gown. All clothes should be marked with either a marker pen or laundry labels.

What Else Do I Need?

We would ask if possible that you bring in soaps, shower gel, body products etc that your relative likes, if it is not possible for you do to this then arrangements can be made for a member of the care team to buy these for you and Charlotte will add this to your sundry bill.

What Do I Do If I Have A Problem?

If you are unhappy with anything at the Grange we would like you to say so straight away, we can’t sort it out if we don’t know!!! You can either speak to Bev (family liaison), Carolyn (Manger), Hazel (Deputy Manager) or one of the nurses.

If your concern is about finances or paying the fees Charlotte in the front office will be happy to help you (fees are billed monthly in advance).

If you have a complaint you can click here to download the complaints procedure or let a member of staff know ASAP so we can resolve any issues you may have.

We have a supply of flat screen tv’s which are used on a first come basis and so it may not always be possible for us to provide one.
